YES!! The short answer is yes you can eat microgreens everyday. Adding microgreens to you daily meals or snacks is a great way to add extra nutrients, vitamins and minerals to your meal.

New Zealand’s ministry of health recommends 5 + portions of fruit and vegetables a day, why not use microgreens to help achieve this goal. Personally, we add microgreens to our wraps, smoothies and homemade ice blocks to help us get more nutrition into our fussy 7-year-old.

As mentioned in an earlier blog the comparison in portion sizes for fully grown vegetables and microgreens are massive, as an example 30grams of broccoli as a microgreen contains the same nutritional value as 560grams of fully mature broccoli.

There are many different ways to add microgreens to your meals, these are some of our favourites.

Garnish, super easy add a pinch of microgreens to your snack or meal. Not only are adding nutrition but that garnish can turn your dish into a work of art

Salad, using our ready to eat salad mix bags we add our favourite salad extras like red onion, tomatoes, cucumber or cheese a light drizzle of dressing and its ready to eat

Blend it, we often add microgreens to our smoothies or iceblock mixes. You don’t taste it so easy to hide from the kids and great for anybody with a sweet tooth.

Steamed or wilted, try stirring through a handful of microgreens into your rice risotto, pasta or stir-fry’s. Bean sprouts are great lightly steamed and added as a side dish replacing silverbeet or spinach
